Okay, ladies and gentlemen, here it is... the Floating Super-Hero Poker Game. This poker game first appeared in MTIO 51, and is one of my favorite bits of Thing, well, "mythology," for lack of a better word. This is not from a Marvel Two-in-One issue, its from Marvel Fanfare 24, and in fact this is just a 13 page back-up story in that issue. It is, however, a lovely story (written by Chris Claremont), in which Carol Danvers (formerly Ms. Marvel, Binary as this is published, and later Warbird) learns of the death by cancer of her friend Captain Mar-vell.

My wife (who is also a comic book reader) had Ms. Marvel has her favorite character when she was younger, so this works for us on many levels.

While emotionally I'd love to have a page from that first poker game, realistically I'm aware that it was drawn by a fellow by the name of Frank Miller, which really means that I'll never find a page, much less an affordable page. That being the case, I'm more than happy to find a page from this particular story.

This was acquired through a private seller in July of 2004, though it took better than a month to get here...
